A Storm!

(This picture actually was taken by our daughter,Rebecca, one day on her way home from work. She used her cell phone. )
Is there a storm in your life?
We all have storms, we can't weave around them, we can't go over them, we must go through them. There is something that can bring us through them...
Last night I attended a Revival Service. The Evangelist had a soul searching message. The part of the message that really stuck out to me was some of the stories that he had shared with us. Of course they were true stroies. One that he shared with us was one that his father had told many times when he had pastored.
His father who was well known to the community, some how he got the name "Smitty", he had went to call on this woman many times. Finally one day the woman said to his father, and called him by name, "Smitty you don't need to come calling on me any more. I know what I need to do and it will only take me 5 nimutes. There are many others in this community that need you call on them." So the pastor, after sometime had passed by, read in the obituary and saw her name. He then made arrangements to go to the funeral. He went up to the casket and the daughter, of the woman came up to him and said are " Smitty"? He said, why yes I am. She said I have to tell you before mom died, she kept calling for "Smitty". We didn't know who it was we thought it was just some one she use to know.
Get the picture? She went into Eternity without God, she thought she had plenty of time.
I have a "Secret", (I recieved this in an email, author unknown)
One day, one friend asked another, "How is it that you are always so happy? You have so much energy, and you never seem to get down."
With her eyes smiling, she said, "I know the Secret", "What secret is that?" To which she replied, "I'll tell you all about it, but you have to promise to share the Secret with others."
"The Secret is this: I have learned there is little I can do in my life that will make me truly happy. I must depend on God to make me happy and to meet my needs. When a need arises in my life, I have to trust God to supply according to HIS riches. Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy."
The questioner's first thought was, "That's too simple!" But upon reflecting over her own life she recalled how she thought a bigger house would make her happy, but it didn't! She thought a better paying job would make her happy, but it hadn't. When did she realize her greatest happiness? Sitting on the floor with her grandhildren, playing games, eating pizza or reading a stroy, a simple gift from God.
Now you know the 'Secret'! We can't depend on people to make us happy. Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.
Trust in HIM!
